Genital Warts Mouth

One of the main questions many people have about genital warts is wondering if the warts can be found in the mouth.  The answer is that yes, you can end up with a genital warts mouth infection!  In fact, you can also get genital warts down in your throat as well.

This is because genital warts is spread from touch.  All you have to do is perform oral sex on someone who has genital warts on their penis, vagina, or anus.  Of course, because genital warts may not show up for nearly nine months after you catch it, you may not even know that you have genital warts in your mouth or throat.  However, if you have any of the following symptoms, you may want to visit your doctor and get a professional opinion.  These symptoms include bleeding in your mouth or throat, feeling pain in your mouth, feeling strange growths or small bumps in your mouth or throat, or having issues swallowing.  If you’ve had sexual contact with someone who later informs you he or she has genital warts, get testing right away.

The sooner you start treatment for your genital warts mouth infection, the better.  As with all genital warts, of course, there’s always the chance that the warts will return.  This is because genital warts medications attack only the warts, not the HPV.  HPV is the virus that causes genital warts, and it will remain in your body.
