In the last blog, we mentioned how older people can be just as at-risk from genital warts and other diseases as the young, and while the numbers of over-40 men and women with genital warts have been growing very quickly, they haven’t topped the charts yet. According to Dr. Lorraine Lighton, the age group of 16 to 24 still hold the title as the group most likely to have a sexually transmitted infection. In fact, half of all of the cases of genital warts reported in 2007 were reported by teens and young adults in this age range. What it comes down to is this: no one is safe from genital warts, so regardless of your age, you need to be careful.
